LOSTTOWN is one of the award-winning projects from the Landmark East Competition initiated in 2003 by the East of England Development Agency.

The purpose of LOSTTOWN is to provide a dramatic illustration of the continuing process of coastal erosion, under the impact of natural forces and climate change.

By rebuilding the sunken church of medieval Walton as a steel sculpture, the project seeks to create a unique landmark, commemorating the lost towns of East Anglia and offering an imaginative starting point for visitors to explore the history of the region.
